The Most Effective Hair Masks to Get Rid of Greasy Hair

Each hair on the scalp has sebaceous glands that produce natural oils (sebum), which maintain health and glow of your hair. Sometimes, these sebaceous glands can produce excess sebum that makes your hair greasy without glow and volume.

Here are 3 most effective hair masks you can prepare in the comfort of your home to get rid of greasy hair:

Egg mask

Eggs have a high content of protein and fat. The protein contained in the egg is the best protein, qualitatively speaking, that you will ever find in any food. This mask will adjust excess sebum and will make your hair soft.

You need:

– 2 egg whites
– a cup of yoghurt
– a little lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl (use a mixer). Apply the mask on the scalp, starting from the hair root to the tips. Put a shower cap on and leave it on your hair for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and wash with shampoo to get rid of the egg smell.

Strawberry mask

Strawberries are citrus, rich in vitamin C, a compound that nourishes the hair and is essential for hair health. Strawberries can balance the natural pH of the scalp and you can transform them into a perfect hair mask for shiny hair.

You need:

– a handful of strawberries
– a spoonful of honey
– a spoonful of coconut oil

Mix the ingredients in a blender. Apply the mask to wet hair, starting from the hair root to the tips. Leave it on your hair for about 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

You will need a natural moisturizer alongside strawberries to avoid hair drying, as these fruits are generally used for oily hair.

Yogurt mask

Yogurt has a rich content of antioxidants, vitamins, calcium and protein. This food is also a natural moisturizer that is recommended for oily, greasy hair. Yogurt can be combined with other natural ingredients, such as bananas (for extra moisturizing) or strawberries (for excess sebum).

You will need:

– 1/2 cup yoghurt (or less, depending on the volume and hair length)
– a teaspoon of apple vinegar
– a teaspoon of honey

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Apply the paste from the hair root to the tips. Allow to work for at least 15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Wash your hair with shampoo to get rid of the yogurt smell.
