A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in part of the urinary system, which includes the kidneys, the ureters, the bladder or the urethra. Most infections are in the bladder or the urethra, the parts of the urinary tract that are closest to the outside of the body. UTIs affect women much more often than men.
The usual symptoms of urinary infection:
– burning / painful urination
– frequent urination
– cloudy and odorous urine
Here is a 2-step natural treatment to get rid of a bladder infection at home:
Drink 1.5-2 liters of water per day, at least until healing. The goal is daily elimination of 1-1.5 liters of urine to “wash” the bladder from stagnant germs.
Avoid coffee, alcohol and soft drinks.
It has been shown that cranberry helps strengthen urinary system immunity, preventing the recurrence of urinary tract infection.
Cranberry leaves are very helpful if you want to reduce the disturbing symptoms of urinary tract infections. They contain tannins, a substance with antibacterial and antifungal properties that fights bacteria from bladder and creates an unfavorable environment for their multiplication.
How to make cranberry tea
Mix two teaspoons of cranberries in 100 ml of cold water. Leave to macerate for an hour, strain and keep the resulted liquid, and boil the fruit again in the same amount of water for 10 minutes.
The obtained liquid is combined with the first one (which was kept aside). Add a pinch of baking soda. Drink two cups of cranberry tea every day for 10 days.
